We are excited to officially welcome Dr. Jessica Higgins! Since she’s shared the last three years working summers and holidays with us as a veterinary student, she’s hardly a stranger!
Now that she’s graduated from The Ohio State University, she found herself torn between two passions, swine/poultry population medicine and caring for your beloved pets. So she’s doing both! She will be joining us on some Saturdays and is looking forward to developing relationships with new pets and their families. Throughout her education, she has been involved with small animal medicine for over 10 years and has a special interest in behavior modification techniques.
During her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband and hanging out with her church family. Dr. Higgins met her husband through 4-H over a decade ago and the two of them now judge 4-H projects at the Ohio State Fair as a way to give back to the program. They also enjoy relaxing at home with their three “fur babies,” Kiki (Bichon Frise), Scarlet (Lab/Boxer mix), and Henry (domestic shorthair cat).
